Le Tour de France

Passing land

The Tour's very first visit to Gap was in 1931. It was the 15th stage that linked Nice to the Hautes-Alpes prefecture. The Frenchman Antonin Magne kept the Yellow Jersey against the Belgian Jef Demuysere who won the stage.

This date 1931 is the start of many other stages of the Tour on our territory Gap Tallard Vallées.

In 2019, the Grande Boucle crossed our territory again to finish its race in Gap.

This 106th edition was won by the Colombian rider Egan Bernal.
It also marked the fiftieth anniversary of the first victory of the Tour  of Eddy Merckx.

For the next edition in 2020, this time Gap will be the starting town on 2 September for a "flat" stage to Privas.
